Sickness costs companies

Companies in the Bay of Plenty region are subsidising gym memberships, back and neck massages, health insurances and running healthy eating programmes to try to reduce the number of sick days taken by staff.
The cumulative cost of sick days across New Zealand workplaces adds to a staggering $16 million a year - a millstone that is dragging down profit margins and creating stressed workers.
